Job Introduction

Key Account Manager – South & South West England

Join AvantiGas as a Key Account Manager and be at the forefront of our commercial growth in the South and South West of England.

About This Role

We are looking for a technically astute, commercially driven professional to drive profitable growth across a defined territory that includes Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.

As a Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of initiating and delivering bulk LPG sales, managing margins, developing new opportunities and building lasting relationships with key business accounts. This is a role where your technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and ability to translate customer requirements into LPG energy solutions will directly impact our business growth.

What Makes This Role Special

In addition to hitting sales targets, you will demonstrate understanding customers' technical challenges, positioning LPG as a viable alternative to other fuels, and building a sustainable portfolio through your technical credibility and commercial expertise.

Working from home with regular field-based activity across your patch, you will have the autonomy to drive your own results and manage your portfolio. You will be supported by Commercial Support colleagues, but success in this role depends on your individual initiative, technical expertise, and self-driven approach to achieving ambitious targets.

What You Will Be Doing

Your focus will be on growing volume, revenue and margin across your patch through a combination of new business development, strategic account management and re-contracting existing customers. You will prospect for new opportunities, attend industry events, and maintain vigilant oversight of competitor activity.

Critically, you will need to understand customers' technical expectations and operational requirements, then map these to our LPG products and services. You will be promoting LPG as an alternative to diesel, heating oil, electricity and natural gas, articulating the technical and commercial benefits to decision-makers. This requires you to be able to discuss technical specifications, system requirements, conversion implications, and deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.

You will work with delegated authorities and the tools we provide to deliver against agreed KPIs including volume, margin, profit, lead conversion and additional revenue streams.

Who We Are Looking For

We need someone with strong technical or engineering knowledge who can engage with customers on a technical level and translate their requirements into appropriate LPG solutions. An understanding of fuels, energy systems, combustion technology, or industrial processes would be highly valuable. You should be able to confidently discuss technical specifications and system requirements with engineers, facilities managers, and operational decision-makers.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals at senior level. Your technical credibility will open doors, and your commercial skills will close deals. You will be highly organised, able to manage priorities effectively, and comfortable presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.

What really matters is your drive to achieve results, your ability to work autonomously, your technical competence in promoting LPG, and your track record of building business relationships based on technical expertise and commercial value.

The Rewards

  • Competitive salary package reflecting your technical expertise, plus on target earnings of up to £50,000 per year based on performance against KPIs
  • Comprehensive benefits package including enhanced pension contribution, private healthcare, life assurance, and company car
  • Meaningful impact: deliver critical energy infrastructure supporting UK businesses and the energy transition
  • Technical excellence: use your engineering knowledge to solve real customer challenges
